Strengthening the care and love for migrant children has become a social problem that needs to be solved urgently.

Sunflower is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing long-term, stable, diverse and high-quality community education services for the children of migrant workers aged 5-15 who have moved to Shanghai. Since its inception in 2003, Sunflower has provided more than 200,000 hours of services to more than 4,000 migrant children and their parents.

A social reality is that most migrant children need to return to their birthplace to take the senior high school entrance examination due to various reasons before junior high school, or abandon the traditional senior high school entrance examination system and apply for vocational school secondary school instead.

But for migrant children, it is impossible to keep the city, and the countryside that cannot go back. After they get used to urban life, they return to their birthplace, the environment changes, and they can only live with their ancestors, or live with relatives, which has a great impact and impact on children’s psychology.

Sunflower’s volunteers told us that Sunflower tries to provide a “fair” educational environment for these migrant children, because these courses are fields that their parents’ education level and work would not involve, and for most migrant workers In other words, they also do not have this awareness to cultivate the next generation.

In the process of contacting these children, their intelligence and simplicity deeply touched C Xiao C and others.
