Reducer domestic alternative acceleration

According to the “2022 China Industrial Robot Market Research Report” by Yiou Intelligence, the cost of the three core components (reducers, controllers and servo systems) accounts for 60% of the total cost of industrial robots, of which the cost of reducers accounts for the highest proportion, reaching 30%. %, followed by servo systems (20%) and controllers (10%).

In fact, when any industry develops to a certain stage, cost reduction needs to be considered, and the most expensive reducer in the field of industrial robots has become the key to overcome.

Industry insiders told reporters from the Financial Associated Press that the accelerators on the market include two mainstream reducers: RV reducer and harmonic reducer. The former is mainly used in robot joints above 20KG, while the latter is used in robot joints within 20KG. “For example, a light-load robot uses a harmonic reducer.”

The above-mentioned industry insiders further stated that the technical barriers of harmonic reducers are high, and domestic substitution is accelerating. The localization rate of harmonic reducers for domestic industrial robots is about 30%, and the localization rate is expected to increase to 40% in 2025.

From the perspective of the global precision reducer market, Japanese brands Harmnic Drive System Inc. and Nabtesco monopolize nearly 75% of the market share.

In the field of harmonic reducers for robots, Harmonaco has a global market share of more than 80%. In the field of RV reducers, most of the market share is still occupied by Nabtesco, and there is a large space for domestic substitution of RV reducers.

At present, the downstream demand is strong, and many new application scenarios have been added. Huafu Securities said that learning from the rise of Japanese industrial robots, the independent control of core components is a prerequisite for the rise of Chinese industrial robots.

At present, the harmonic reducer has achieved technological breakthroughs and can realize import substitution, but the RV reducer still relies on imports due to performance problems such as transmission accuracy, torsional stiffness, and stability.

Enterprises have entered the bureau and expanded production

In order to further consolidate its leading position in China, Green’s harmonic reducer continues to expand its production. In 2021, the company will achieve an output of 267,400 units, a year-on-year increase of 138.34%. Pacific Securities expects the company to complete the expansion target of 500,000 units by the end of 2022. Domestic industrial robots will further maintain rapid growth, which will benefit the company’s orders.

In addition, in recent years, the company has continuously promoted the application of harmonic reducers in more industries through the development of new series of products such as Y and E, and the design of mechatronic products, opening up room for future growth.

A reporter from the Financial Associated Press found that the first echelon of reducers, in addition to the green harmonics, mainly includes Nantong Zhenkang, Shuanghuan Transmission, Zhongda and Qinchuanmachine toolAnd other enterprises, the domestic RV reducer market share will be around 30% in 2020.

Among them, Qinchuan Machine Tool currently has an annual production capacity of 60,000 to 90,000 sets. In 2021, the production and sales of RV reducers will exceed 30,000 sets, accounting for about 20%-25% of the market share of domestic RV brands. It is the only manufacturer in China that provides a full range of products (5Kg-800Kg).

In terms of Shuanghuan Transmission, a full range of RV reducer products for industrial robots has been formed, and it is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 800,000 units after expansion in 2022.

In terms of Zhongda, the reducer products include planetary reducer, RV reducer and harmonic reducer. Among them, the RV reducer will be supplied in batches in 2018, and the harmonic reducer will be supplied in batches in 2020.
