Teledyne Introduces Contact Image Sensor for High-Speed, High-Resolution Line-Scan Imaging
Teledyne DALSA introduces AxCIS™, a new family of high-speed, high-resolution fully integrated line-scan imaging modules. This easy-to-use Contact Image Sensor (CIS) sensor, lens, and light combination is a low-cost inspection system for many demanding machine vision applications.
New AxCIS high-speed, high-resolution line scan solution for space-constrained systems
AxCIS is equipped with Teledyne’s new four-channel linear CMOS image sensor, which has a monochrome line rate of up to 120 kHz and a color line rate of 60 kHz x 3 at a resolution of 900 dpi, resulting in high defect detection accuracy. The unique interleaved sensor design covers the full field of view with no dead pixels, providing 100% seamless images without interpolation. Dual exposure modes enable HDR imaging, increasing dynamic range and improving detectability of highly reflective materials.
The initial width of AxCIS is only 400mm, 800mm (other widths are incremented by 100mm), and it can be adapted even where the vertical spacing of the system is very narrow. Its Camera Link HS SFP+ optical fiber interface transmits high-resolution images through standard low-cost long cables (up to 300m), with high data transmission reliability.
“AxCIS is a fully integrated, easy-to-use, cost-effective line scan imaging solution that meets the requirements of space-constrained systems such as printing, printed circuit board, and web inspection,” said Xing-Fei He, Senior Product Manager, Teledyne DALSA, “Excellent image quality, 900 dpi high-resolution imaging plus HDR mode significantly improves detectability for demanding applications such as lithium battery inspection.”
