Amsterdam-based Hilco Industrial Acquisitions (BV) is an operating company of Hilco Global (headquartered in the US). The company today announced the sale of all assets of ThyssenKrupp’s heavy plate mill facility in Duisburg-Huttenheim, Germany, to an Asian steel producer. The sale comes just six months after Silkco Industries first acquired the heavy plate mill facility of Thyssen Krupp Steel Europe.

ThyssenKrupp, Europe’s second-largest steelmaker, closed its German facility in September 2021. The heavy plate mill facility produced approximately 850,000 metric tons of steel during operation for shipbuilding, offshore and heavy manufacturing construction production. In addition to large hot rolling mills, other equipment for sale includes new furnaces, hot/cold levelers, hot/cold levelers, quenchers, ultrasonic in-line inspectors, shot peening/primer treatment equipment, and many flame cutters and plasma cutters.

The relocation will begin after this summer, with around 22,000 metric tons of machinery and equipment relocated to Asia from its original site in Duisburg-Huttenheim, Germany.

Sirco Industries will continue to expand its acquisition portfolio in the field of rolling mill equipment. This is the second heavy plate mill facility the company has sold in the past two years. Recently, Silkco Industries sold a heavy plate rolling mill of South Korea’s Dongkuk Steel with an annual production capacity of 2 million tons in February 2021, and in September 2021, it sold Posco Vietnam rods in Vietnam. The 2015 production Danieli rebar mill at the section factory (Posco SS Vina). Recently, the Chilean company Huachipato Ferrous Metallurgical Company (CAP ACERO) has hired Sirco Industries to sell steel and rolling mill equipment that CAP ACERO no longer needs in its continuing operations.
