Morse Microelectronics Partners with Quectel to Bring Wi-Fi HaLow to the Market

Morse Mciro, a fast-growing fabless semiconductor company focused on internet of Things (IoT) connectivity, and Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global IoT solutions provider, today Announced a strategic partnership to bring Wi-Fi HaLow solutions to the market. Through the partnership, Quectel will integrate Morse Microelectronics’ 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow technology into new modules designed for consumer, Industrial, agricultural and other use cases.

With the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certified reference design, supported by Morse Microelectronics’ MM6108 microchip, Quectel’s modules will accelerate the global application of Wi-Fi HaLow and support everyone to develop long-distance IoT solution.

Quectel’s FGH100M product is a new long-distance, low-power Wi-Fi HaLow module that complies with the IEEE 802.11ah standard and operates in the 850-950MHz frequency band with a channel width of 1/2/4/8MHz and a maximum output power of 21dBm, the maximum theoretical transmission rate is 32.5Mbps. The ultra-compact appearance of 13.0 mm x 13.0 mm x 2.2 mm enables FGH100M to optimize and effectively reduce the final product size and design cost, fully meeting the needs of small and micro applications.

Michael De Nil, co-founder and CEO of Morse Microelectronics, said: “This collaboration demonstrates the growth and development trend of Wi-Fi HaLow, and our adoption and development of the technology in key industries. Focus on commercialization. Quectel’s comprehensive IoT module product portfolio provides a strategic layout for the integration of Morse Microelectronics’ Wi-Fi HaLow technology with low power consumption and ten times the range of traditional Wi-Fi connections. We look forward to working with Quectel is partnering to develop new Wi-Fi HaLow solutions that promise to be game-changing for consumers and businesses, for everything from smart homes to smart cities.”

Norbert Muhrer, President and Chief Strategy Officer of Quectel Communications, said: “Our partnership with Morse Microelectronics demonstrates our continued commitment to provide customers with leading IoT solutions that are deployed in multiple IoT applications around the world. .Morse Microelectronics’ industry-leading Wi-Fi HaLow technology, ideally suited for IoT modules, is designed to meet the growing demand for low-power long-range connectivity in IoT and machine-to-machine applications.”

Morse Microelectronics’ comprehensive Wi-Fi HaLow portfolio includes the industry’s smallest, fastest and lowest power IEEE 802.11ah compliant SoC. The MM6108 SoC supports 1MHz, 2MHz, 4MHz and 8 MHz bandwidth, can provide a throughput of tens of Mbps, and supports streaming HD video. These Wi-Fi HaLow SoCs provide 10 times the range, 100 times the area and 1000 times the capacity of traditional Wi-Fi solutions.
