Let the robot move smarter!Students of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) won the Best Paper Award of ROBIO2021 Conference

Recently, the internationalrobotThe IEEE ROBIO Conference was held in Sanya. 398 scholars from 12 countries and regions around the world participated in the conference, focusing on the collision of robotics and bionics. The paper “Towards Minimally-Intrusive Navigation in Densely-Populated Pedestrian Flow” by Qi Senmao, a postgraduate student of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and automation, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), won the TJ Tarn Robotics Best Paper Award. Associate Professor Wang Jiaole led the students as the thesis instructor They attend meetings and give oral presentations.

Let the robot move smarter!Students of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) won the Best Paper Award of ROBIO2021 Conference

The award-winning paper focuses on the autonomous navigation of mobile Robots such as smart wheelchairs and logistics trolleys in dense crowds, defines the metric for robots to interfere with crowds, and designs a navigation scheme that minimizes the impact on pedestrians from both macro and micro levels. The minimization of intrusion and safe navigation of dense human flow by autonomous mobile robots are realized.

IEEE ROBIO is hosted by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. The conference brings together the latest research results in various research fields such as international robotics, automatic control and bionic systems. Scholars participating in the conference mainly conducted extensive academic exchanges on research on bionic robots, medical robots, soft robots, robot motion control, computer vision and other major challenges in society.
