According to Yole Development’s 2021 data, ONSEM’s image sensor ranks first in the CIS market share in the industrial field. Among them, it has more than 50% share in the automotive image sensor market. In an interview with China Machine Vision Network, Chen Li, the automotive field application engineering manager of ON Semiconductor in China, said that ON Semiconductor focuses on the automotive imaging market and has more than 18 years of automotive professional experience. In addition to the high image performance that meets the requirements of vehicle imaging, ON Semiconductor also has deep accumulation in technical fields such as vehicle reliability and functional safety. The combination of image and reliability is ON Semiconductor’s main leading edge.

Onsemi’s transformation journey began at the end of 2020. In some cases, the CMOS image sensor may account for a large proportion of the overall power budget of the camera. ON Semiconductor has always focused on low power consumption design. Low power consumption extends the life and energy efficiency of end products such as handheld barcode scanners, and improves overall image quality without the need to dissipate heat or reduce cooling mechanisms in the camera. Power supplies generate heat, and heat increases noise, so the cooler the sensor or even the camera, the better the image quality it will produce. At the same time, the increased sensitivity of ON Semiconductor’s sensors reduces the need for additional lighting. For example, in intelligent transportation solution applications (ITS), it does not need to add flash lights, and also avoids light pollution to the environment. Increased near-infrared (NIR) sensitivity further improves the overall sensitivity of the device, helping to reduce the need for additional light
