What’s in the Green Book?

As an important research achievement on the first anniversary of the establishment of the Low-Carbon Center, the Green Paper introduces Honeywell’s carbon capture technology, clean coal chemical technology, flow battery energy storage technology, hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) low global Scientific research results in major low-carbon technology fields such as warming potential products, renewable diesel, aviation fuel and naphtha technologies, plastic chemical recycling processes, and digital means, detailing Honeywell’s mature solutions and product portfolio, and Introduce the successful experience of related technologies in global projects.

China’s “14th Five-Year Plan” and the formulation and implementation of the “carbon peak” and “carbon neutral” goals have put forward higher requirements for the low-carbon development of related industries, and also provided important opportunities for sustainable technology application. Core technology innovation is the key means to achieve low-carbon and sustainable development. As one of the leading technology and solution providers in the fields of refining, energy and intelligent manufacturing, Honeywell provides sustainable solutions from different production links, which can effectively help enterprises in related industries to reduce carbon emissions and achieve cost reduction and efficiency increase , to further help customers achieve sustainable development goals.

About the Honeywell Sustainability Institute

Honeywell (China) Co., Ltd. Sustainability Research Institute is affiliated to Honeywell Performance Materials and Technology Group, formerly known as Honeywell (China) Co., Ltd. Environmental Protection Research Institute established in 2018. The Low-Carbon Center takes Honeywell’s innovative products and technologies as the engine, focuses on the research on low-carbon technology development and market demand, and promotes the development and implementation of low-carbon solutions in the Chinese market.

In November 2021, the Low-Carbon Center officially released its first research results – “White Paper on Low-Carbon Development of the Refining and Chemical Industry” at the 4th China International Import Expo, aiming at the transformation faced by the refining and chemical industry and enterprises in the context of the “dual-carbon” goal. Challenges and innovation needs, strategic guidance and technical suggestions are put forward to provide innovative ideas for the sustainable development of the refining and chemical industry.

At the same time, Honeywell (China) Co., Ltd. has also officially established the Scientific Committee of the General Research Institute of Performance Materials and Technology recently. Six experts from home and abroad have been invited to join. The Scientific Committee will provide guidance and support for the follow-up research and development of Honeywell (China) Co., Ltd. Sustainable Development Research Institute and Honeywell (China) Co., Ltd. Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, and will be invited to participate in relevant research reports writing and evaluation.

As a digital industrial high-tech enterprise, Honeywell has long been committed to improving its own performance in terms of environment and sustainable development. About 60% of the company’s new product development is based on improving customers’ environmental performance and social benefits.

In 2021, Honeywell announced a commitment to achieve carbon neutrality across all business operations and facilities by 2035, and in April 2022, the company announced a further strengthening of its sustainability commitments by reducing other indirect greenhouse gas emissions from the value chain ( Scope 3 emissions) are included in the emission reduction targets. Honeywell implements the core strategies of “Eastern serving the East” and “Eastern serving the world” in China, serving the long-term goal of high-quality development in China, and jointly shaping sustainable development with Chinese partners through the continuous development of advanced products and technologies s future.
